Storybook of Bluebeard
Il
était une fois, un homme qui était très riche. Malheureusement
pour lui, il avait une barbe bleue, d'où son surnom :
Barbe-Bleue !
Il
avait déjà eu six femmes. Elles étaient toutes mortes, de façon
mystérieuse...
Once
upon a time, in France, lived a riche lord.
Unfortunately,
he had a blue beard, hence his nickname : Blue-Beard !
He
already had six wives. Who all died mysteriously...
Barbe-Bleue
organisa un bal pour trouver une nouvelle épouse.
Tout
se passa pour le mieux, et Barbe-Bleue se maria à nouveau avec une
magnifique jeune fille.
Blue-beard
organized a ball to find a new wife.
All
went well, and Blue-Beard got married again with a beautiful young
girl.
Barbe-Bleue
dut partir pour quelques jours.
Il
donna les clés de toutes les pièces du château à sa femme en lui
disant : « Ouvre n'importe quelle porte, mais pas celle du
petit cabinet au fond du couloir, celle-là, personne n'a le droit
d'y entrer ! »
Blue-beard
had to leave for a few days.
He
gave the keys of the castle's rooms to his wife, saying « Open
any door you like but not the little one at the end of the great
groung floor, nobody is allowed to enter that little room ! »
La
jeune femme invita ses amis au château et leur montra toutes les
pièces à part le petit cabinet au fond du couloir.
The
young girl invited her friends to the castle and showed them around
all the rooms exept the one at the end of the corridor.
Puis
ne pouvant résister davantage, poussée par la curiosité, elle
courut jusqu'au petit cabinet, poussa la porte, entra dans la pièce
et...
But
she couldn't resist her curiosity any longer, one day she opened the
door and walked into the little room..
Horreur !
A
l'intérieur, suspendus, il y avait les corps des femmes de
barbe-Bleue : il les avait étranglées de ses propres mains. !
Gasp !
Inside,
hanging on the walls were the bodies of Blue-beard's wives : he
had strangled them all with his own hands !
La
jeune fille remarqua qu'une des clés – celle du petit cabinet –
était tâchée de sang. Elle n'arriva pas à la nettoyer.
Quand
Barbe-Bleue revint de voyage et le découvrit, il devint comme fou :
« Tu as été dans le petit cabinet. Et bien tu vas y
retourner et cette fois pour de bon : Tu vas mourir ! »
The
young girl asked for ten minutes to say her prayers and ran to her
sister Anna and ask her : « Anna, do you see our brothers
coming ? They promised they would come and see me today . »
But
Anna replied : « No, I dont see anyone », « Only
two farmers », « No».
Blue-beard
came with a big knife, but...
La
jeune fille demanda 10 minutes pour prier, courut voir sa sœur et
lui demanda : « Anne, est-ce que tu vois nos frères
arriver ? Ils ont promis de venir me voir aujourd'hui. »
Mais
Anne répondit : « Non, je ne vois personne. »,
« Non, seulement deux paysans », « Non ».
Barbe-Bleue
arriva alors avec un grand couteau, mais...
The

deux frères, deux chevaliers surgirent dans la pièce. Ils
attrapèrent Barbe-Bleue et le tuèrent.
Voilà
a fin de la triste histoire !
Quelques
temps plus tard, la jeune veuve épousa un homme bon et honnête, qui
l'aida à oublier cette terrible aventure.
Her
two knights brothers burst into the room. They caught Blue-beard and
killed him.
And
that was the end of the sad story !
The
young widow, some time later, married a good and honest young man,
who helped her forget the terrible adventure.
