Here is our illustrated story book. Our pupils did their best to draw their favourite parts of the folk tale. You can see the palace, the wood, the Old King, the three princesses and the prince in the book. After drawing the pictures they composed some sentences about the picture. They also designed a book cover.
The story book is displayed in our Comenius display wall.

Egyszer volt, hol nem volt, élt
egyszer egy király, akinek három lánya volt. A királynak három gyönyörű országa
volt. Azt mondta hát a király a leányainak, hogy annak adja a
legszebbik országát, amelyik őt legjobban szereti. Az öreg
király száműzte a legkisebbik lányát, azért, mert azt válaszolta, hogy úgy
szereti az apját, mint az emberek a sót. A királylány az erdő felé vette útját.
Once
upon a time, there lived an old king who had three daughters. He also had three
beautiful countries. One day, the old king asked his daughters how much they
loved him. Whichever daughter loved him the most, would get his most beautiful
country. When his youngest daughter dared to say that she loved him as much as
people love salt, he became angry.

A királylány hiába magyarázta, hogy az emberek, így meg úgy
szeretik a sót, a király nem kegyelmezett. Elindúlt nagy búsan. Ment mendegélt,
míg egy erdő közepébe nem ért. Ott talált egy odvas fát, amibe bemászott.
Although
the princess tried to explain how much people loved salt, the old king didn’t
forgive her and sent her away. Sadly, she wandered into a forest. She found a
hollowed, old tree and crawled into it.

Egyszer arra járt egy királyfi, aki észrevette a lányt a fa
odvában és kiparancsolta onnan. A királylány sírva jött ki. A királyfi első
látásra beleszeretett.
One day, a prince was walking in the forest and caught sight of the
princess in the hollow. She cried as she came out of the tree.

A
királyfi addig könyörgött a lánynak, míg ő ki nem jött a fa odvából. Szerelem
volt első látásra. A hercegnő elmesélte, hogyan került az erdőbe.
It was love at first sight. The young princess told him why she was in
the forest and what had happened to her.

A
királyfi táltos paripáján elvitte a királylányt a palotájába, ahol királyi
fogadtatásban részesült. Gyönyörű ruhát adtak rá, haját szépen kifésülték. Nagy
boldogságban élték napjaikat.
The prince took
the princess on his horse to his palace where she was kindly welcomed. She put
on a beautiful dress and her hair was combed. They lived happily together.

Az öreg királyt meghívták ebédre. A király eljött a lakomára
és észrevette, hogy az ő ételében nincs só. Nagyon mérges lett, de aztán
rájött, hogy nagy hibát követett el, mikor elküldte otthonról a lányát.
Bocsánatot kért a lánytól és feleségül adta legkisebbik lányát. Boldogan éltek,
míg meg nem haltak.
The old king was invited to lunch with the prince. He came to the
banquet, but he got very angry when he tasted that there was no salt in his
food. He then realized that he had made a big mistake when he chased away his
youngest daughter. He apologized to her and allowed her to marry the prince.
They all lived happily ever after.
